It’s going to be a wet and muddy Colney Lane Parkrun today. I’m marshalling at Top of the Hill - offering encouragement and the promise runners/walkers only have to do the hill twice.

My brief encounter with Bramble at 5pm last night. Bit of a frown but didn’t ball up and normal service quickly resumed. 🦔
November 15, 2025 at 7:43 AM
Filthy weather, got home from work, and rushed out to restock the hedgehog houses. And guess who’d already come round for dinner? 🦔
November 14, 2025 at 5:13 PM
A very wet night here in Norwich and it’s a slightly damp Bramble coming in for breakfast just after 4am. 🦔

Hello again KC-135 neighbours! Couple of C130s and F15s out there too.

My art teacher used to say “Always look up” He was not wrong.

A deer drive by of the hedgehog highway at the literal break of down this morning.

Good morning all. Bramble the hoglet arrived just before 7pm last night to continue the job of feeding up for winter and valiantly tackled the floor biscuits. 🦔
November 13, 2025 at 6:07 AM
It’s the four KC-135s doing circuits over us again. The cat is not impressed.
November 12, 2025 at 8:46 PM
It is 01:46 and the hoglet, let’s call him/her Bramble, has the biscuits all to themselves. We’ll be putting food and water out all winter - our local hedgehogs don’t tend to hibernate until well into December. Climate change has that effect. 🦔
November 12, 2025 at 6:44 AM
Watch the prickles rise then it’s more little and large hedgehog shenanigans. The hoglet gets the proverbial crumbs from the table 🦔
November 11, 2025 at 6:44 AM
If you watch carefully, a hoglet squeezes in past the bigger hedgehog. No fuss, no stress. 🦔

First outing with the new Garmin for my easy Sunday run. Boy is the screen pin sharp. Very nice.
November 9, 2025 at 4:49 PM
In these troubled times, take a few seconds to appreciate a hedgehog having a drink 🦔

Here’s to you great uncle John. From Old Deer in Aberdeenshire. Corporal in the 2nd Battalion, Gordon Highlanders. KIA fighting the Japanese in Malaya in January 1942. No known grave. Remembered with Honour on the Singapore Memorial.

Oh deer!

East Angular, innit.

A new bakery, loaf.microbakery, has opened in the shop vacated by the old bakery. Excellent news.

Cannot believe I’ve had no call back from Dragon’s Den for my innovative Hedgehog Assistive Brick System (HABS). Cheap, weatherproof, versatile, simple to install and use. Eight of 10 hedgehogs prefer HABS. 🦔

Exciting. Early birthday present. Had my old Garmin for about five years so this is an upgrade. Thanks @bokarelli.bsky.social ❤️

Textbook use of my patent pending Hedgehog Assistive Brick System (HABS) tonight. No notes. 🦔

I had no idea it still existed. Legend has it that it was developed as an instant coffee for the Gordon Highlanders. Presumably, to make them angry and more aggressive. Tastes vile.
