THE most pressing issue in Worcester is sidewalks?! The #1 issue? Tell me you’re out of touch without telling me you’re out of touch.

You know what they say about a red sky in the morning but it is pretty out there!

Whoever did this 1. Doesn’t know Dr. Monárrez very well to think she’d actually like this. And 2. Has no political intelligence. Like there's no scenario that this is a good idea.

I usually don't stay in bed. but my kids brought me breakfast and the days are feeling heavy. so I stayed and read "In a Time of Violence" by Eavan Boland. her voice reaches across generations, anchoring me in this unsteady moment. her strength reminds me that to love fiercely is to resist fear.

Can you imagine being the deputy superintendent of the second largest district in New England–a renowned expert in the field–and a school committee member turns to you and whispers "you better not screw this up" right before she votes to make you superintendent?

So unserious.

Preemptively posting this before people come at me– I played flag football in college and am a big fan of the sport.

(and props my college roommate who had a digital camera back in 2004/05 and still had these photos!)

Rereading what I wrote on literacy back in January because I'm going into a class at Holy Cross tomorrow to talk about it, and there's some good nuggets of Worcester-specific information in there I kind of already forgot about. Despite 6 months of research/interviews it didn't all stick in my brain.

Not @billshaner.bsky.social continuing the bullshit that school committee is JV to city council’s varsity! (Mailman has more actual power on school committee!)

All the named space in WPS buildings. Was interesting to see that a lot of them are very recent. Also they left off a whole building (McGrath) so not sure how accurate this is.
