Oh! So you were thinking it was just libs who’d lose their jobs? He called you a sucker and a loser years ago, pal. When someone tells you who they are, you should believe them. Expensive lesson, huh?

It took an hour?!

So what could they have done differently, given how little influence the President has on the economy?

Rules are measures we use to judge behavior. They are not barriers and they are not straightjackets. Good trouble is breaking rules for a just reason. Knowing the corrupt and criminal conduct of our public servants is just!

Great again for white men is what they mean.

And yet they are more concerned with - and voted for - a far right candidate and gave the presidency and both houses to a party all but fascist in name. They aren’t center left ideologically if they can’t get past immigrants seeking asylum/a better life for their children.

Ok, but you gain nothing in the exposure. The left can’t punish it and the right doesn’t care. We sink to their level for nothing.

True, but in this instance no bad behavior is in evidence; only in allegation.

Rules are intended through consequences to govern behavior. They are intended to be barriers. The call to “good trouble” is not uniquely liberal. The right claims righteousness as well. If we abandon the rules too, we’re left with anarchy.

Socially, we are center right, especially compared to other western democracies. Politically ignorant or aware, Americans vote their fears. The majority is ignorant, afraid, and drags us right.

One look at the proposed rump administration indicates to me that they’re planning on doing more than the rules allow. To my point: does joining them in corruption and distain for the rule of law help?
November 16, 2024 at 2:47 PM
Ok, inasmuch as the US is a center-right country politically, how does that work, exactly?

Some guidance on how to stay in the fight effectively would help. The “how” is always harder than the “what”.

So what happens if neither party follows the rules unless it’s convenient? Do we just issue representatives brass knuckles and last one standing wins?

What happens if neither party follows the rules?

Can you say “GOP” and “Grownups” in the same sentence?

Assuming he can find the Justice Department.

Clearly overqualified.
