They are totally without compassion or customer service, and impossible to get ahold of. They cancelled our flight home to Canada from Malta and we had to fight to get what we paid for.
I left many many many duplicate posts on their Facebook page detailing their incompetence.

Air Canada has a terrible customer service system. My sister was to fly out yesterday, flight cancelled, first due to staff shortage but quickly changed to ‘weather related’. Gets an email rescheduling her flight to Dec 31 with zero compensation. We spent three hours waiting to sort it out. 😡🤬
