You are either dumb or brave, likely both. The odds are stacked against you, no mission is safe. You have little in the way of resources, especially when compared to the industrial machine of The Gobblegarchy. They have guns and bullets hurt. Anything you do has a good chance of making your situation worse as much as it accomplishes your goals. You are the underdog to David and you’re trying to take on Goliath directly(4), and that mixed metaphor is the kind of thing someone like you thinks makes you cool. Footnotes 4. Again, yes I know I didn’t include the reference to Greek mythology in the section about Herdlaks earlier, and maybe I should have cut this line as well for being a biblical reference to a faith that doesn’t exist in Ordwyk. It’s just hard to think of a better metaphor for your desperate revolution that is as evocative as the little guy with a sling chucking rocks at a giant monstrosity towering over him. In fact, David probably had more success than you will, but we’ll see. All you can do is try!

I'm having a lot of fun writing the manuscript for my revolution Forged-near-the-Dark #ttrpg Odd Army. I'm including lots of footnotes with jokes and character and voice for this narrator. Whoever this guy is, he's got some opinions.
The Players Everyone who participates in this game is a player. Nobody is more important than the other, or in charge of the game, or anything like that. A “game master” sure sounds like Potgobz capitalist propaganda to me. You’re all playing the game, telling a story together, and looking to have a good time taking down the Gobblegarchy. The person facilitating the world and events outside of the heroes’ control is as much a player as the person making decisions for the hero. It’s not a job to run an RPG for your friends(1). Odd Army instead makes the distinction between the Heroes and the Guide. These are the roles the players take on as they play and the terms that should be used instead. The Heroes are players who take on the role of individual protagonists that are leading(2) a Movement(3) to overthrow the Gobblegarchy. The Guide takes the role of nearly every other character and helps fill in the gaps of the story when the Heroes need outside input. Footnotes 1. Unless, I guess, you’re getting paid for it, which I suppose might happen. If that’s the case, I can’t fault you for making a little moolah on the side doing something fun like facilitating RPGs. We do exist in a very real capitalist hellscape and can’t always change it like our heroes are trying to do. Back to the grind. 2. Maybe not “leading” per se, but certainly they are significant within it or some even the faces used to represent it. 3. Oh shoot, that’s bolded. That means it’s another keyword. I’ll get to the Movement in a moment, keep reading. Don’t stop and look at this footnote, doofus. What a waste of time when you’ve got so much more you have to read. This book isn’t exactly thin and I’m sure you’d like to get to playing the game soon.

Konrad has been on his meds for almost a week and he's got a lot of energy and quite a bit of strength in his back legs again. Still can't support himself but he was able to go on an adventure in the snow today and had a good time being outside smelling the smells.

Konrad is doing very well! He's progressing great after only a few days on his meds, getting quite a bit of movement back in his legs and still having lots of energy. We're optimistic he'll be walking on his own again by the end of his treatment!

Our dog Konrad very suddenly and inexplicably became paralyzed in his hind legs over New Year's. He's still got a lot of energy and is seemingly normal otherwise, but because of the holidays and us catching COVID we haven't been able to get him in to see a vet yet.

Thanks! Here are some example cards. They are adjectives and you have to find places or objects in the play space that fit the word. Like other word-based party games, you could interpret the word to fit a variety of different places and things. Noisy could be a speaker, someone who is loud, etc.
