Preliminary report is out; now to find out why the engine separated. MD-11F UPS2976 at KSDF 4-Nov-25 never had a chance. 14 dead, 23 injured. Eerily similar in a few details to DC-10 AA191 at KORD 25-May-79. With 273 dead, AA191 remains the deadliest aviation accident to have occurred in the US.

“… it has its share of good people.” Yes. A letter on the display for the Mexican Canyon Railroad Trestle, located right outside of Cloudcroft, NM.

Home sick. Looking at NM pics on Unsplash. This one is emblematic of my home state. Beautiful, full of promise, blue skies, open spaces, a historical relationship to air and space. But also a bit weather-bearen and rough around the edges, welcoming/appealing to outsiders, but often abused by them.

Finally getting a bit of Canada here in the United States of Hell: Tim is in Nashville finally. Was able to make our first trip today. Been since we lived in Ann Arbor that we’ve been able to do this.

Mmmmmmm. Hope Canada gets some money from my chocolate glazed. Maple Leaf forever.

More views of a younger Charlie, and puppy Charlie. He finally grew into his ears.

This is the titular King of the Manse, Emperor Roux II, successor to the Iron King, Roux I. Roux II is goofy, mostly content/slightly intimidated to let Forceful Personality Prince Regent Goose control the territories. Roux is a goofball, a sweetheart, and loud as hell. A full-blood Basset Hound.

This is the Lothario/Casanova of the Kingdom, Prince Charles Phillip Arthur George, aka Charlie, brother to Dilly and Goose. Goose looks like daddy, Dilly and Charlie look like twins, but not like their mother or father, but a combo. He is a major sweetheart who will lick you to death.

The Lady of the Manse, Princess Cordelia Marie Antoinette. (We don’t get to name our rescues. She mainly goes by Dilly.) Like her brother Goose, she does not suffer fools gladly. Also she doesn’t accept unapproved treats not up to her standards at all. She looks like her brother Charlie’s Mini Me.

This is our Prince Regent, Goose. He rules for the weak Emperor Roux II with an iron hand. Named Goose for a white marking on his back that looks like a goose in flight. Very much my cuddle buddy but don’t get on his bad side.

I should post more pics of the Powers of the Manse, our Basset overlords. So here first up is a very sleepy Bo, waiting for Sunday night dinner. He’s an independent Princeling of the kingdom.

Our beagle brothers Fergus and Feargal back around Christmas 2012. Miss them so much. Recently got personalized plates “Beagle1” and “Beagle2” for our Jeeps. A couple of our bassets definitely have beagle in them. Keep the beagle pics coming!

The following quote so accurately pegs the U.S. of the 2020s as it did the U.S. of the 1890s. Shirer writes of Upton Sinclair's famous and seminal work, "The Jungle," regarding the Chicago and U.S. in which he was born and raised.

Our first beagle, Bayley Murphey, at 7 weeks old in 1994. He crossed the bridge at age 12.5 in 2007. Still miss him every day. Now rescue senior bassets.

Love it! Jealous! Props for my old lovers TWA and Pan Am. But post another pic when you properly get a Braniff “End of the Plain Plane” or “Flying Colors” sticker on there, son!
