Thor coming to protect the land
May 11, 2025 at 12:34 PM
we’re working toward a Saxon land protection charm on the next new moon. Thor’s rune, ᚦ thorn, will be our defense and channeling agent, as Mjölnir is used in defense and to channel lightning. the charm requires Thor-hallowed water dripped onto a small reconstruction of the land and its inhabitants.

lived long enough to become my parents’ worst nightmare from the ‘90s (queer occult aunt reclaiming her pre-Christian ancestry and teaching other people’s children about the moon) #pagansky #witchsky

fanart given to me by a seven-year-old after the tale of Mjölnir stolen by the giant Thrym in which Thor goes undercover as bridal Freyja with a veil on and Loki shapeshifts into his handmaiden and does all the talking to recover it

meant this to be a corresponding middle finger permanent wear ring to the one I’ve kept on my left hand for over four years, but it fits my ring finger better. married to the Old Religion now, or something.

parsnip has got to be one of the best peasant crops. still producing outside in March from the previous season and only sweeter for the winter frost, full of fiber and micronutrients, flavorful and filling from the starchy carbs, can prepare it any way you’d eat a carrot or a potato.

binge-watching Merlin not in a big fucking nerd who wasn’t allowed to watch TV in this era kind of way but rather in a cool, smart, “In popular culture” section of my Religion degree dropout studies kind of way

picks from Lighthouse Radical Bookshop which was really nicely stocked and organized. it’s such a pleasure to support independent booksellers.

starting my British mythology/folklore/pagan religion research era while I’m ‘home’ in the UK. I was specifically looking for Blood and Mistletoe at Foyles but flipped through its neighbor The Land of the Green Man by @profcarolyne.bsky.social and had to grab it too. so excited to get into it.
