The first game I played with camera control was Mario 64. In it the camera is held by Lakitu. So when you think of it as controlling a camera, if it moves left, the view turns right.
When I played a fps I had to change my perspective as controlling my character's head so non-inverted now made sense.

I used to play inverted because I only played 3rd-person. My first game with camera control was Mario 64 so I always pictured it as controlling a cameraman floating behind me. Eventually I started playing 1st person and had to rethink the camera, and now use non-inverted for both 1st and 3rd person.

Yup, that's the way. My Blue Prince notes start with a "current goals" section that gets updated as I solve one issue or come accross a new puzzle. I'm on day 80-something and that list is currently 6 goals long.
