A letter to the editor published in the BOSTON GLOBE newspaper on May 14, 2025: Title: These raids keep coming — where is Governor Healey’s voice? Text: I have noted with alarm the increasing number of reports of federal agents, often in plainclothes, grabbing community members off the streets of places such as Somerville, Newton, New Bedford, and, now, Worcester without warrants. I fear we are deciding, in real time, whether we will live in an autocracy where the ruling regime can whisk people away and detain them indefinitely in violation of their constitutional rights or whether we will respect and uphold the Bill of Rights and the rule of law. Governor Maura Healey’s relative silence in the face of these grave violations is deafening. It’s time for decisive action to restore the rights of the people of Massachusetts. Signed, Amy Harris
