Been writing about early mugshots and the women behind them—not as crime evidence but as historical erasure.
It’s not about true crime spectacle. It’s about how systems archived their faces & scrubbed their stories.
What can we learn from them? What happens if we start asking better questions?

So thankful for my dog. Walking him helps me process and brainstorm story connections. W/O him there’s no way I would have been out today (7 degrees at my house -7 at kid’s school)

After months of trying to figure out what allergens were causing her to rip out her fur, we just discovered it’s actually that she has panic attacks whenever my husband leaves the house. Which, fair. I get it.

My view from my bed every morning. When we bought this place it only had a single window but I never wanted to miss the sunrises here so my husband added two more for me.

This is Doe which won the Akron Prize and published by University of Akron Press. The poems are abt missing and unidentified women. It led to a doc abt it with Kate Mulgrew narrating and Raven Goodwin & Coco Jones voicing some of the poems. And then a song by a county musician & now a podcast by me

Look, I don’t want to give away his secrets, but this guy is going to be a movie star soon. I mean you can see his star potential on display here, so I’m not sure why I ever doubted him.
