Thankfully, in Australia, our opposition leader is looking at Trump and thinking "You know what? That's an election winning strategy!". At least he won't be opposition leader after the election, sadly they will replace him with someone even more useless.

I'd like to know how World Pride is going to run in the US this year if transgender people face bans from the US when entering the country.

This constant stream of hatred and bullying towards young people needs to stop from adults that should really know better. Their words and actions puts young lives at risk.

We need to call on the Prime Minister and the Health Minister to openly reject this letter and to call for a stop to groups politicising the lives of transgender people, and stop targeting young people.
January 30, 2025 at 7:51 AM
The letter was authored by the head of the anti-trans organisation Women's Forum, Rachel Wong, and includes people such as Tony Abbot, Sall Grover and other notable anti-trans campaigners.
January 30, 2025 at 7:50 AM
The letter tries to infer that a large number of trans people are detransitioning. However, this isn't trye. While it does happen, and those people need care and support, it is at most 3% of all young people. Even the Cass review only found out of a sample of 3000, less than 10 had ceased care.
January 30, 2025 at 7:50 AM
Instead they quote the politically motivated Cass Review, which has been wholly rejected by medical organisations in Australia.
January 30, 2025 at 7:49 AM
The letter ignores all other reviews that have been done, including the most recent one conducted by Queensland Health, that has found gender-affirming care is safe and administered under strict guidelines.
