Angry cat in a lazy human body. Marketing books @atlanticbooks.bsky.social. Queer and nerdy in equal measure 🏳️‍🌈👾
Gulped down this novella. Funny, pointed, uncomfortable, Hunchback fits so much into so few pages #booksky 📚💙

First trip to @hepworthwakefield.bsky.social was a resounding success. Forbidden Territories: 100 Years of Surreal Landscapes was brilliant, bringing known artists and overlooked ones together in really interesting ways. Loved it!

Is there anything sweeter than fighting ghosts in the machine (aka an unloadable seating map) in order to triumph?

This is what celebrating turning 35 looks like:

Sushi, video games and surrealism

'No, I don't check the book's spelling. No, don't talk to journalists either. Nope, covers are designed by designers...'

And so it goes. Nothing if not enigmatic

When family members ask me what I do as a marketer in the publishing industry, I never know what to tell them

Least of all when this is currently top of the to-do list

This dairy-free butter is delicious

Would never have guessed what it was made from 📃

Not exactly the covering I was looking for, but for our first snow here, it'll do

You wouldn't think it, but this little thing has spent most of the day barking his excitement/annoyance to all who will listen

It has become an annual tradition in my family's house to create something called Fakesgiving, which is evidently an excuse for my folks to put up Christmas decorations and have a big ol' roast.

I am taking full advantage

One set of bookshelves we have - the most orderly of all. Alphabetised, though you can't see the domination of Ali Smith, located behind the large picture frame

Since these things are going round:

I'm Aimee, I market things, specifically books. These are some specific books I've worked on (though there are hundreds more at this point, and my shelf space is limited)

Posts will vary between books and video games plus other nerdy pursuits. Enjoy!

Just want to spend my days feeding snacks to this little guy

Thanks to Dragon Age: The Veilguard for this slice of goodness amongst the darkness

I always find it quite funny when readers ask to see where writers write their books, and there's like the special chair and desk and everything just so. And then I look to where Lis and I write, and we have a broken laptop set up on a table, littered with a bunch of crap. More relatable, I reckon 😅

My parents confound me sometimes. My dad wouldn't consider himself a painter, yet he created this, and it now hangs in... their downstairs bathroom

It's always fascinating coming back to my folks' place to see what new objects reside alongside them. Today's pick:

Now reading In Ascension by Martin MacInnes

Full disclosure, I work for the publisher BUT I would have wanted to read this anyway, as I'm always up for seeing genre books on prize lists (this one being the Booker longlist)

Plus all of my colleagues rave about it and I don't want to be left out

Excitement building
We may have started a new game file in anticipation
Given how I cancelled my Cyberpunk 2077 preorder (and requisite days off to play it), the team has done such a good job fixing things. It's now one of my faves from recent years

Loved this very strange book! Trans mc, alien entity helping/'helping' the human race, going back in time to live as a baby, also covering grief and love and sex, life and death. Very cool from Chana Porter 💙📚
