🌡️ The results show clear seasonal shifts, with higher richness and abundance in summer, and reveal very different responses of subterranean ants to climatic factors, reflecting their high ecological specialization.

🌳 The study analyses the seasonal dynamics of #antcommunities in a cork oak forest in northwestern #Morocco, using an adapted soil-washing method that allowed the sampling of more than 1,300 individuals from 17 species, many of them hypogean.

🔬 Este trabajo pone en valor la importancia de metodologías específicas para estudiar comunidades crípticas y destaca el papel fundamental de las #hormigassubterráneas en la #biodiversidad del suelo.
🌡️ Los resultados muestran cambios claros entre estaciones, con mayor riqueza y abundancia en verano, y revelan respuestas muy distintas de las #hormigassubterráneas frente a factores climáticos, reflejo de su alta especialización ecológica.

🔍 Through real examples, observations and guided questions, students learned what ants are, what they look like, how they live, how their colonies are organized and why they are key organisms for understanding our ecosystems.
