Former FM Mark Drakeford signed off on 8 SEZs and 2 Freeeports in Wales with Sunak, present at the signing was Shanker Singham, known as the 'brains behind Brexit'.

The reason I'm posting this is that UEZs, FTZs, EPZs, FEZs, SEZs, and Freeports are now officially Labour policy, Keir Starmer lied when he said Labour had 'inherited' the Tories SEZs/Freeports experiment in what will become 86 corporate governed tax havens.

In 1997 Thatcher spoke admiringly about China's 'sinister and so far successful experiment in combining economic freedom with political servitude' which translates as capitalism without democracy.

Free cities are the next evolutionary stage of SEZs/Freeports. Brownfield/Greenfield sites are not an obstacle for venture capitalists, deregulation takes care of removing planning permissions while embedding secondary legislation in free zones which means zero Parliamentary or public scrutiny.

Project 2025 was refuted by Trump but the likes of Steve Bannon (just out of prison) has just declared that it is indeed going ahead, and there is now nothing to stop it. Trump's plutocratic free cities are a major component of Project 2025, there are 293 FTZs (Foreign Trade Zones) in the US.
