There is, I think, a tendency of just a certain type of queer pop history to seize upon the idea that a society had views on sexuality or gender that differed somewhat from a very Victorian standard ideal, and to paint them as some kind of Queer Utopia.

This paragraph is a slap to the face of the very people you're trying to advocate for. It is genuinely transphobic to suggest that attacks on trans women are "misandry", and in the context of the Trump administration it's also absolutely incoherent to imply they hate men.

This, which is a fucking awful framing of the issue. Hatred of trans women does not constitute misandry, and not only is it transphobic to suggest otherwise it is frankly absurd in this context.
