Tariffs are an interesting one IMO

Vance is of course a leading GOP slopulist (hard to discern how sincere it is given his background), but if he got into office and abandoned tariffs he'd get glowing media coverage w/o losing much support from GOP voters

Just attaching this in case anyone decides to read any of this as being like, sympathetic to Vance or whatever lol.

I'm not making the case he's "better than this" or anything like that

...if he doesn't feel pressure from the base on this stuff (i.e. if he becomes President after winning in 2028, as opposed to taking over midway through the term and feeling potential 2028 primary pressure)
