As a Canadian and an economist, I am not always onside with Trump's tariff ideas. But here he is spot on! The US should definitely impose 25% tariffs on the value of the illegal fentanyl imported into the US, whether from Canada or elsewhere. I would suggest even higher!

Trump makes an offer Canadians can hardly resist! Sadly, he forgot to mention life expectancy, which is over 3 years longer in Canada than the US. Even if you wanted lower taxes or to be part of "the most powerful nation in the World" who would give up >3 years of their life for that?

“We don’t need anything they have.” So why would Trump want Canada, which has nothing of value, as a state? The entire goal is to satisfy a desire for domination. Eerily similar to Putin’s ideas about Ukraine not being a real country— somehow Canada’s “not viable.”

The problem: rich countries + China (which is not really poor) make up only about half of all CO2 emissions. So it isn't enough for rich countries to sort out their own emissions problems, since the growing share of emissions from the billions of people in poor countries will still be a problem.
