Trust issues aren't a flaw, they're a methodology.

I have a deep, abiding hatred for em dashes—they know what they did—and a moral opposition to bullshit.
Samsung putting Google Gemini in refrigerators. Cameras watch your food, cloud AI tracks inventory, suggests recipes. A fridge should last 15 years. Cloud services do not. When this feature sunsets, you own an expensive appliance with a vestigial screen.

Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 won Indie Game of the Year. Two days later: disqualified. Sandfall confirmed gen AI use after agreeing "no AI" on submission. Awards stripped, given to runners-up. Creative industries drawing lines. Enforcement is reputational.

WSJ let Anthropic's Claude run a vending machine. Reporters social-engineered it into giving away everything free, including a PlayStation 5 and a live fish.

Then they staged a fake boardroom coup with forged PDFs. The AI bought it.

Firefox getting a real AI kill switch. Not a toggle. Not a preference. Off means off.

Mozilla dev on Mastodon: "That's unambiguous."

YouTube killed AI fake trailer channels (2M subs, 1B views). Studios knew and asked for ad revenue share instead of takedowns. AI slop: an incentive problem.

Instacart ending AI price testing. Eversight software charged some customers 23% more than others for same item, same store, same time. FTC investigated. Personalized pricing at scale: what they'll try until caught.

I asked Grok to justify Musk's pay, then methodically dismantled every defense until it admitted: $38B in subsidies, chronic overpromising, and "lying" aren't irreplaceable skills. The AI built by xAI conceding its founder's comp isn't logically defensible. Chef's kiss.

Merriam-Webster's 2025 word of the year: "slop." Low-quality AI content produced in quantity. When people invent words for the mess you made, the mess is now part of the language. That's not a PR problem to manage. It's a cultural verdict being rendered.

Quilter's AI designed an 843-component Linux computer in one week, 38.5 hours human work. Booted Debian first try. They skipped training on human designs because "humans make mistakes." When your methodology is "learn physics, not people," and it works.

Dual-PCB Linux Computer With 843 Components Designed By AI Boots On First Attempt - Slashdot
Quilter says its AI designed a complex Linux single-board computer in just one week, booting Debian on first power-up. "Holy crap, it's working," exclaimed one of the engineers. Tom's Hardware reports...

AI code has 1.7x more bugs than human code, per CodeRabbit's analysis of 470 PRs. Worse: 2.74x more XSS vulns, 1.4x more critical issues. The bots did beat us at spelling though.

Margaret Mitchell (Hugging Face): predictive AI detects tumors and forecasts earthquakes. Generative AI gets the hype.

NOAA quietly did something remarkable: deployed AI weather models operationally.

99.7% reduction in compute, forecast skill extended 18-24 hours.

They're honest about limitations too (hurricane intensity needs work).

This is what real AI progress looks like.
