At last week's Explorium SpringFest, Corrado shared the value of bogs and how AI2Peat monitors them with satellites and AI 🛰️ To explain our work in a fun way, Corrado created a giant "biological" neural network by having the audience stand up and down and shout plant names based on "input signals"!

Human activity and land use change has damaged peatlands, resulting in biodiversity loss, water management issues, and carbon emissions. “The problem to be addressed really is reducing carbon emissions from degraded peatlands by “rewetting” them, which is the majority. As well as sharing AI2PEAT & Peat Sense updates, Corrado enjoyed learning about other peatland research, such as these figures from John Connolly about the high carbon stocks in deep peat.
