What’s different? Not my struggles. Not my ideas. The difference is the face people associate with those ideas.

As a ‘white woman,’ I’ve seen:
• More empathy for my layoff story
• More support for my ideas
• More encouragement to ‘keep going’

As myself? Crickets. #BlackSky #HiringBias

This experiment confirmed what many Black professionals already know, race influences perception.

It’s hard not to feel disheartened. Why does my pain resonate more when it’s coming from someone who isn’t me? Why are my ideas more valid when they’re tied to whiteness? #BlackSky #WorkplaceEquity

I don’t share this to complain but to highlight a systemic issue.

Black professionals deserve the same empathy, encouragement, and engagement as anyone else. We shouldn’t have to code switch, even visually, to be heard.
