So who was gonna tell me 1000xResist is essentially peak sci-fi storytelling in gaming? I’m talking a top 5 best stories in the medium. Unbelievable stuff. Screenshots because I’m utterly mind blown.

#Andor is unbelievable. I can’t believe Star Wars even had the ability to be this fucking good. It’s simultaneously a massive achievement and so disappointing that we’ll likely never get something this great from the IP again.

Clair Obscur: Expedition 33. One of the best games I’ve ever played, full stop. So happy this game is blowing up. I can’t stop thinking about this story and how it didn’t stop being a blast from start to the absolute second I put it down.

Clair Obscur might be the best looking game to date. What is this black magic? Who did they sacrifice?

Split Fiction is on another level. This game was like, Portal 2 good. Like Mario Galaxy quality from start to finish. It never stops being relentlessly fun. Constantly changing ideas and mechanics just for the sake of enjoyment, and connection to the universe. This was a stone classic

It’s driving me nuts that I’m playing through the Yakuza series and I have nobody to talk to about this. About how these ps2-ps3 games have better stories and storytelling than everything else at the time and how they’re still better than anything 15 years later.

#KingdomComeDeliverance2 might be one of the greatest open world games ever made. Not since Oblivion had anything sucked me in like this. Its complex systems, brilliant ai, and intoxicating world are second to none. This is an all time classic in the making

My favorite time of the year! To post about my favorites of the year for all 3 people who I talk to games about. In 2024 I finished (I’m including service games I dumped lots of hours in.) upwards of 50 games! A new record for me. GOTY thread 🧵:

Sickening, haunting, profound, and wickedly hopeless: I think Mouthwashing is one of the best horror games ever made, and I think it is in the conversation of best stories in the horror genre. Fuck me, what a trip. Play this game, support the devs.

#IndianaJones and the Great Circle is a late entry but stroooooong game of the year candidate. Holy hell this game was fun, cool, and full of whimsical adventure. I just could not put it down!

Crazy that Interstellar might even be better 10 years later.

Yeah man I’m not gonna lie that new Superman trailer has me really hype. Didn’t care at all and now I’m completely invested

Game Awards were bumping even though a lot of it was not for me. New Onimusha is super hype, and really excited for a new naughty dog game in space! Astro Bot is fantastic so I think they got most of it right this year!

The more I look back on the year the more I think about what a mesmerizing game Rebirth was/is. One of the best SE games ever #PSWrapup2024

Playing some indies for a palate cleanser after back to back 70 hr RPG’s (metaphor and Veilguard) and started with Dredge. Now the best lovecraft game I’ve ever played and one of the best renditions of the work in the medium. It’s charming, intriguing, terrifying but beautifully haunting. LOVE

Genuinely I would still buy a good handheld system if it was as good as the Nintendo DS/3DS hell even the psp was great. Why are we not doing this still. Playing games on a phone has always felt terrible to me.
