“Auschwitz did not fall from the sky ….. Evil comes step by step.”

— Marian Turski, Auschwitz survivor

May we never forget.
We've tried a Hollywood celebrity, and we currently have a so-called TV reality star. Neither seems to have worked out well. Could we try someone who lives in the real world next time?

Let this sink in.

Even the Los Angeles Police Chief, Jim McDonnell, made it clear: the people protesting immigration raids were not the ones causing violence.

During a Sunday evening press conference, McDonnell condemned the violence as “disgusting”

Marine veterans are speaking out against the troop deployment in Los Angeles. Across the country, they’re taking down their American flags that have flown in front of their homes for years. Remember, we have friends everywhere.

Newsom responds to Homan statement on possibly arresting him: He's a tough guy. Why doesn't he do that? He knows where to find me. Lay your hands off four year old girls that are trying to get educated. Come and arrest me. Let’s just get it over with tough guy. I don’t give a damn

The President of the United States is advocating for arresting the duly-elected Governor of California for his SPEECH

He thereafter admitted that the Governor of California had committed NO CRIME—but he still wants him arrested

Spend as much time as you need processing what that means for America

"It gets somewhat lost in all the other high octane dimensions of this story that a raid on a Home Depot is literally an effort to arrest people who are eager to work and whose labor is in great demand. It’s about as far as you can get from just going after the bad guys, as the WH routinely claims."

The MAGAs are out in full force today because their narrative is crumbling. Incredible work so proud of all of you. It’s impossible for this administration to control the narrative when everyone has a camera and access to social media.

Trump told reporters at the White House that the protesters in Los Angeles “are insurrectionists.” That’s false. January 6 was an insurrection, this is a protest. But by using that language, he may be laying the groundwork to invoke the 1807 Insurrection Act.

He also claimed the city would have been “obliterated” without the National Guard. That’s utterly absurd. The Guard did nothing during yesterday’s protests, they stood outside the federal building where ICE detainees were being held.

Jeffries: "We will not be lectured by Donald Trump and anyone in the Republican Party about issues of law and order ... he pardoned hundreds of violent felons, criminals, who brutally assaulted police officers and attacked the Capitol on January 6. That's what Donald Trump did on day one."

He even said he would arrest Governor Newsom, an outright authoritarian statement. Trump is trying to manufacture chaos and crisis on the ground for his own political ends.

OF COURSE, Trump's deployment of National Guard troops is a tragic foreshadowing of what we can expect next, and it is a test run by the Trump administration to push the legal limits on martial law.

I wrote about it last month: shero.substack.com/p/trump-embo...
Trump Emboldens Law Enforcement in Preparation for Martial Law
Last week, the Trump administration took a step to nullify substantial advances in federal oversight of police reform for problematic police departments across the United States.

“The rules of engagement here, we are told, are still being finalized. And defense department lawyers are also looking at the kinds of rules of engagement these Marines will have as they encounter protesters, possibly on the streets of Los Angeles.”
CNN: We have breaking news now from the Pentagon. CNN can now report that roughly 500 Marines are being mobilized in response to the protests in Los Angeles.
