I've started a new series on Substack where I write about ideas from philosophy, psychology, history, and culture and how bygone theories shape our thinking today.

It’s mostly me trying to learn and memorize by writing.

The first one’s about Plato.

Please go outside and look at the sky during the day at least once a day, otherwise you are performing a brutal and inhumane psychological experiment on yourself that the ruling class usually reserves for prisoners.

I need friends who randomly go insanely in-depth over an extremely specific and niche phenomenon.

It's quite sad realizing how creative I was as a kid before all the social media, unlimited content, and stimulation from everything, and I’ve never felt that way ever since.

It’s wild how social media warped our perspective; suddenly, 10 likes feels insignificant. But imagine 10 real people standing in front of you, saying they understand and relate to what you wrote. That’s not small at all.

I learned a new word today: "Heliotropism". It's the tendency of a plant to turn towards the sun.
Although some plants lose this ability as they mature, just like somewhere along the line we forget how to do that as well.

Happy new year everyone!

Hoping to go through 2025 more motivated, more disciplined, and better informed. And I hope the situation of the whole world gets somewhat better in 2025

What are your goals for this year?
What are you hoping for changes or hoping to change yourself?

Many people want to journal because "self-improvement." But when they try to write something, they get overwhelmed because they can't come up with anything meaningful. If you're like this, then this post is for you.

Question for social psychologists:
Why do societies accept the rise of rulers of any kind instead of resisting them? Why do the people in different levels of any hierarchy accept that hierarchy?

I don't know if it's ever coming, but I love that there are no blue checkmarks here. It's evolved far from its original use of verification and perhaps paying for the mark democratized that access, but now it just creates an unnecessary hierarchy of perceived authority, prestige, and status.
