Went to a protest on a Berkeley I-80 overpass and a lovely person gave me a free patch, with safety pins. To the 3 jerks I saw giving us the finger as they drove past, you were vastly outnumbered by the folks who honked and waved with great enthusiasm. There are way more of us than there are of you.

Great fun tonight at the Fillmore hearing Michael Shannon & @jasonnarducy.bsky.social play @remhq.bsky.social tunes. Spotted this vanity plate in the parking garage. Can’t wait for the next go-round, Lifes Rich Pageant (the first tour I saw—I skipped class in college to get the tickets).

I don’t have a bucket list, but tonight I met one of my favorite singer/songwriters, Richard Shindell, after he played at the Bluebird Cafe in Nashville (where I was visiting family). It was a wonderful show, my first time at the Bluebird, and he was lovely when I spoke with him briefly afterwards.

Amazing show tonight at the Fox in Oakland. Lucinda Williams opened w/ her band and later came back to sing with Mike Campbell’s Dirty Knobs (featuring Steve Ferrone on drums), after their set. It’s a crime that this show didn’t sell out. I was lucky to be so close!

Not to be confused with Bozo's Bar-B-Q, which is delicious, as is Gus's World Famous Fried Chicken, located right across the road from Bozo's Bar-B-Q in Mason, Tennessee.

I first saw her on a late night show (maybe Letterman?) wearing a dress with tiny plastic cows on it and immediately fell in love/became a fan. Came out a few years later. I couldn’t find any pictures of her in that dress, but this was her look in that era.
