That feeling when the podcaster hasn't sold their ad spot and you don't need to scramble for the +30 🔘. Meme worthy @warmovietheatre.bsky.social ?

Yes I'm doing book signings in these now. Particularly if your bookstore has saloon doors and a spittoon.

Very exciting to be one of the authors chosen for the ABC Big Day of Books event on the 28th of June. Lots of great authors, books and presenters. If you are in Perth, come along to ABC studios. Big event.

For those who who would like to hear - and see me be funny on the topic of swearing, writing and Sicilians, I'm on the @libbyapp_anz book club next week. Lots of Libby fans of Montegiallo already apparently. By the way, NZ fans, quite a bit of the book was written in NZ in the tiny town of Fairlie.

Went with 80s Italian velour for my book launch, The Montegiallo School of Swearing, Italian shoes and I think glasses too. So lovely to see everyone there.

Those buying book at the launch on Thursday 24 April State Library (or who already have the book) can have a custom hand carved rubber stamp of Viviana as well as getting it signed.

Loving doing all the first author cliches including sighting book on shelves. This at the very pleasant Collins Booksellers Bunbury .

This vintage denim jacket has pockets big enough to take @chrischibnall.bsky.social 's entire first novel! Great to hear him chat on the latest @backlisted.bsky.social on The Unconsoled. A book which I found somewhat suffocating at the time. Not sure they have convinced me to pick it up again.

The only day in my life that will ever be debut author book release day! Maybe I'll sell enough to sign off, David Niven style, a postcard to @backlisted.bsky.social podcast - Andrew HC McDonald from Cap Ferrat.

Preparing to open advance copy reviews of my book on Goodreads. Will I need to vomit? Should I pre vomit?

A couple's perfect digital life begins to diverge from their reality - at first unnoticeably. Interesting book. Latronico says was inspired by Things: A Story of the Sixties by George's Perec, but it reminded me a little of the desperate trivialities of Then we came to the end by Joshua Ferris

Didn't know this author. Some very good and very hardboiled L.A. noir.

Fremantle Press who are publishing my book The Montegiallo School of Swearing in April are encouraging this year's writers to do video. Made a little rubber stamp animation.

After reading the vicious and unbelievably outrageous Lightning Rods as recommended by @backlisted.bsky.social
I ordered Helen Dewitt's The English Understand Wool which was delightful. But being a fast reader with a short book it cost me about $40 an hour! Great book.

One of the most fun things about writing the book was having to have my Italian swearing reviewed by a professor at Melbourne University! Dotoressa Bresin.

Lovely people at Fremantle Press presented the advanced copy of my book in hand made book bags using Sicilian and Melbourne tea towels! I almost cried.

Drinking a (checks receipt) Yuzu Breeze as the gulls feed on Tim Madden's heart. Such a terrible cover for such a classic. The glass stain helps @causticcovercritic.bsky.social

The mean streets of New York to the quokka infested gutters of Rottnest Island. An absurd Pan foiled cover from the 1980s. @causticcovercritic.bsky.social
