I'm more on Mastodon as https://wikis.world/@aharoni , but hey, let's try it. 1980, Moscow, Haifa, Jerusalem, Providence. Music, languages, Wikipedia. Most people don't know English. 🇮🇱🇺🇦🇺🇸♾️🏳️‍🌈🧩🚲🚌☕
Hi @vocalfriespod.bsky.social ! Thanks for the Makaton episode. The storyline about restricting it with patents and trademarks made me quite angry. I am not a lawyer, but I feel these things shouldn't apply to languages. The Blissymbols system has a similar controversy—you may want to look into it.

Hi @gretchenmcc.bsky.social ! Maybe I'm imagining it, but I have a vague recollection that you wrote once that the syntax of Wikipedia is a multilingual programming language, because some keywords can be relatively easily translated to other (human) languages. Could you point to that post? Thanks!

I've started a spreadsheet of notable folks/orgs who've completed their exit from X (no dual-posting), and where they've landed among the new platforms (Mastodon/BlueSky/Threads).

I'm personally only active on the fediverse, but I hope this is useful for folks on here as well!
