There’s beauty, there’s loss, and there’s still hope.

Slightly over a week ago (at the time of filming this), this little one was born. So fragile, so dependent, yet so full of meaning.

Many years of conservation; the tangible results of people at the Uganda Wildlife Authority working hard to give mountain gorillas a chance.

Dr. Jane Goodall, DBE inspired many of us to do better everyday; not just for our natural world. A great life, truly lived well!

Lauded as a conservationist and condemned as a big-game hunter, in 1909, Theodore Roosevelt, (26th U.S. president) hunted rhinos in northwest Uganda, the same area rhinos are now being reintroduced.

An interesting read in this week's Smithsonian Magazine

Saints or Rebels? Ssekabaka Mwanga's side of the #UgandaMartyrs story

Earlier this year I had the pleasure of interviewing some awesome folks on Buganda history. Here’s a thought-provoking excerpt from that series as we commemorate #MartyrsDay2025

Frames from Southwest Uganda — a place of both color and contour.

Those ancient sentinels — Muhabura, Gahinga, Sabyinyo — ancient mountains that once, like a natural compass, guided journeys through this part of Africa. Simply stunning!

This level of plotting by the British is astounding.

Here’s an intriguing excerpt from an old journal I came across some time ago—now preserved in antiquity. It predicts how ‘Mweso – The Board Game’ played by ‘the untutored savage’ would fall into desuetude.

I had the pleasure of recording sound for this episode of the SPOOKED Podcast a while back. I’ve been part of some crazy stories but this one about night dancers in Uganda was wild, eh! 🙆🏾‍♂️😂 Hapaana.
