Used to think that formative assessment and assessment for learning were the same thing. They're obviously similar, and there are overlaps, but yeah. Being able to understand each of them separately has helped me choose better ways to assess students.

There is so much to the book I hope it doesn't feel rushed as a film.

I find teachers very defensive about this. But when I ask them do they think their driving has improved over the last 10 years they admit it probably hasn't.

I just always wonder do students make the right choice in such a scaffolded environment. After a year of college and being more independent I think reality hits students (and maybe parents) more about what is right path of study for them.

Do you think broader first-year courses would be better or help? Spread (or push) the assessment pressure into college when students are more certain where they want their direction of study to go?

Questions on content put together on PowerPoint in coloured grids. Typically questions in red squares are more difficult and get more points. Reduces opportunity for effective feedback and very workload heavy.
