We believe that food safety should always come before efficiency. That's why we're standing up to Mark Carney's cuts to the public service, and to the CFIA. We don't want to see more Canadians getting sick because the government chose to cut an already bare-bones agency.

The Agriculture Union has been sounding the alarm about this algorithm for years. We have demanded that the CFIA be adequately staffed in order to fulfill its mandate of keeping Canadian food safe.
