It raises so many questions for me! Could we use these to deduce and reconstruct the "sound" of the big bang? Would it even be audible to our ears? What was the scale of the universe at that time? These oscillations are essentially a galactic-scale version of a Chladni plate:

Follow up: The very same hardware will allow a Linux VM to read CDs. The host OS (Sequoia) doesn't work! I think it might be related to the SATA > USB cable I've got attached to the optical drive.

My M1 and M4 Macs will not mount or play regular audio CDs! The OS presents a "not readable" error, but Disk Utility knows that there's 514 MB of data there! The same optical drive will play the same CDs with no absolutely no trouble on a Windows 10 PC. What am I doing wrong here?
