I truly love the Little Free Library concept. Counting the 15ish D&D novels I just dropped off, I think my donation total must be around 50 now, and all previous books have been taken! Getting the shelf space back has been great, and I'm happy my books will get a second chance to be read - or more!

My love of animation fuels my RPG antics. One of my Pathfinder Society characters is Savannah Snakebite, a bardish rogue chameleon gnome who resembles Rawhide of Long Gone Gulch in a gothy saloon dancer outfit with a sword cane and whip and my best Helluva Boss Millie impression.

I have always enjoyed the arts and indulged in their creation, but this decade has demonstrated the value of entertainers in a way I can only compare to the era if USO shows.

A well-stocked magazine rack can be a fascinating window into interests and lifestyles that we otherwise forget about. It's worth at least glancing at all the covers once in a while to see what people are reading about month after month.

In this week's Pathfinder game, there was a beautiful moment where I tried to do something clever to trick the bad guys into reading a busted spell scroll to have it blow up on them, and the entire party joined in on the ruse. Went a different direction, but it was still jolly cooperation.

Game Idea: Sonic game with a heavy musical theme based around genres, with a bit of Kingdom Hearts stage cosplay. Special Stages include a rhythm game. A bit of cast drama, some musical badniks, some ship bait dance scenes, DJ Froggy, Disco Robotnik, a wink at the series' musical history. Imagine.

Given the state of education - due to corruption and catastophe, as educators themselves move heaven and earth for their kids - it's worth considering offering yourself as a tutor or study buddy. Even just helping your second cousin's kid read Cat in the Hat can make the future a little brighter.

It's a good time to pick up memberships in places you find soothing to wander or sit in, like museums, aquariums, or zoos. It will give you a third place for the whole year and give them a little stability boost at the same time, without having to pay up every time you walk in.

A little hack for helping out small businesses in your community: In a place with seating, sit by the window or out front if nobody else is. This helps passers-by see that it's open and people are comfortable hanging around, making it easier for them to decide to check it out.

As cortisol permits I'd like to muse about TTRPGs, cyberpunk aesthetics, fantasy fiction, the under-appreciation of serpents compared to dragons, and accessibility in video games.

With the bird flu swooping in, make sure you keep a mask handy, especially for crowds, public transit, schools, and offices. If you're a bird owner or work with birds, or hang around them in parks, take extra precaution for their sake and yours. Let's at least slow this one down.

Remember how hard people fought for equity and equality, to have their humanity recognized, and how overwhelming it can all be - yet not insurmountable. Remember how beautiful the world is when we share it, and how joyous is the music of so many different voices.

As messy as the world can be, it's a good idea to be generally prepared for small emergencies or complications. Fire extinguisher, first aid kit, stored water and food, important document and photo backups, etc. It's nice to know that you've got a bit of slack if something bad happens.
