Agnes says women, esp. Black women, are not listened to when they bring their children to A&E with breathing difficulties resulting from air pollution. Many women in the audience said the same thing.

Air quality comms needs to understand the systemic sexism and racism that disempowers people

@agnesagyepong.bsky.social says funding for air quality communications needs to go directly to the communities affected by air pollution so that they can tell their own stories.

There is chronic underfunding in air quality to tell stories, and this limits engagement, empowerment, and change.

Extremely important point about typically white scientists going to Africa to reduce air pollution by providing cleaner ways of cooking, where not respecting the cultural importance of fire creates a big barrier to change

I spoke at Parliament on Tuesday for the Education Select Committee’s first inquiry into the #SENDCrisis.

🚨 Too many parents don’t feel safe engaging in the SEND process!

We can’t talk about equity when families fear the system. The government needs to fix this.

Proud to speak at the Children’s Rights Conference this week, presenting on systemic #SEND discrimination from our Black Child SEND Report (www.blackchildsend.com).

We need equity in SEND support and an end to exclusionary practices. Children deserve better.
