#14 = Hollow Knight: Silksong

Exactly what I wanted from a sequel to Hollow Knight. Legitimately enjoyed every boss within this game and the amount of important content that is missable is insane. Lastly, music was always the strong suit for HK and they surpassed even HK with this OST.

Definitely recommend the Salvation Sequence trilogy by Peter F. Hamilton, which starts with Salvation. That series was my introduction to hard sci-fi books. Fair warning, though, as his books tend to be quite long, but it was so memorable for me.

Actual #13 (oops) = Wuchang Fallen Feathers

Honestly, like most soulslikes for me, this was definitely a rollercoaster of ups and downs but for the most part, this was ups! Story was really cool with it pulling from real Chinese history (although quest steps are something...) with killer music.

#13 = Crusader Kings 3

Oh boy... this game took me waaayyy off course for a good few months before I got back to my backlog but it was a great time playing it. Can't wait for the All under Heaven expansion to introduce East Asia to the game!

#11 = Doom: The Dark Ages

Honestly, when a game like this makes you go "hell yeah" multiple times throughout, you know that Doom did its job. The changes made to glory kills and weapon balancing plus the shield are also much appreciated as I enjoyed the combat flow with these features.

The game will be a game pass day one game so I'm leaning more toward Sunday too.

#10 = Dead Space Remake

Had a few days in-between finishing Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 and the release of Doom The Dark Ages, so decided to finally jump into the Dead Space remake, having never played the IP before properly. All in all, I had a good time with the game!

#9 = Clair Obscur: Expedition 33

Completely lives up to its hype and rave reviews and thoroughly enjoyed the combat as you start to build out your party members. The story was impeccably well done with surprises that I didn't expect from this game, and the music... rivals Hollow Knight, my beloved.

I'll judge the outfits based on how they fit in the game world, like the baguette outfits I love but... it don't fit haha

I'll probably jump in for a day before Clair Obscur but it'll be there for me after I'm doing playing Clair Obscur.

#8 = South of Midnight

A wonderful palate cleanser for me. Combat was simple but still really enjoyable and fairly difficult on the highest level. The story was really good, especially the latter half, where it got me tearing up too! Oh, the music!!!! Chef kiss. Definitely deserves awards for that.

#7 = Blue Prince

What a gem this was coming out of left field. I'm still going to be playing the heck out of this game, finding out all the secrets but for now, I can say I've reached the mysterious room 46 after 35 in-game days.

I'm currently playing Tyranny on PC and loving it so far, embracing the evil playthrough!

#6 = Death Stranding: Director's Cut

Well... just no... hated the story and writing, but gameplay was surprisingly fun. But that's it... wanted to see what the hype about Kojima was about, and as of now, do not get it. But I will need to play the MGS series to truly have an opinion on Kojima.

True, Bethesda, I think, still operates to the beat of their own drum, so it's a possibility. Was listening to a few people about this, and they make the good point of why release on a switch direct if the switch 2 port wouldn't come until June at the earliest?
April 2, 2025 at 11:42 AM
Announced, yes, shadow drop, eh, I don't think it would, especially with South of Midnight being early access tomorrow.

Using the poison cloud card combo as well makes it even easier as it destroys the sickles so you rarely get hit.

#5 = Avowed (with an honorable mention to Stellaris)

This was a long time coming as I let myself get addicted to Stellaris but after a month, I finished Avowed and I can say I loved it. Sheer detail to story and environment, combined with a very intriguing story and characters, Bravo @obsidian.net

Honestly, the movie would have been no. 1 for 2024 had it not been for the final 10 minutes. I absolutely love weirdness/absurdism but yeah, it didn't feel warranted in this movie.
