The routine was inspired by Doll from Kuroshitsuji to the song Girl with One Eye by F+tM, a concept I’d been sitting on for literal years. Getting the chance to fulfill it for an audience feels like a love letter to my past self, one I want to keep open ended and continue writing.

It’s been especially humbling having done most of my performing in my 20s, when I was still stumbling my way through my identity. Being on the other side, I appreciate the new perspective and appreciation it gives me. In today’s climate, I have to find something sacred in that.

Got back on stage for the first time in almost 10 years this past weekend.
Turns out I severely missed performing (and making costume pieces!!), and def want to get back out there before another decade passes again.

In the end, the Requiem is conquered. Ori doesn’t resurface unscathed, neither do the ones that saved him. They all have a long road of recovery ahead of them, from the wounds and nightmares that run too deep. But maybe now, given another chance, without the arrow, Ori and the Mob can try again.

But at the same time, the flesh has so much to offer. Pleasure, pain, and every synapse fired in between, and the Mob is desperate to feel it all first hand. Ori has his preferences, the Mob knows them all too well, but now it can finally learn what— if anything, *something*— sets them apart.

But what *does* it want? Not even it really knows. Whatever it is, sieving through Ori’s memories and experiences for the ghostprint of a life lived have left it craving the base, carnal fulfillment of instinct. After all, the arrow settled and fused to Ori’s brain stem.

If the arrow grants a wish, it saw what Ori always wanted: control. But years of suppressing his own wants and needs and feelings— they only get in the way of keeping your nose to the grindstone— led to a cacophony, desperate and violent. And given form and autonomy, it WILL get what it wants

Glitch Mob was a colony stand the moment it manifested, an army of iridescent cubes Ori kept tight control over with the ever-present glove on his right hand. He didn’t dare lend meaning to this fragmented depiction of self. Not until he touched the arrow again, and awoke its Requiem.
