Set up Wraith & the Giants! A very beautiful, fairly minimal game for what looks to be an epic clash.

Excited to play this one and share thoughts

The setup so far. The lighting from the bar lamp is quite harsh, so need a way to diffuse it.

Zooming in while shooting 4k 16:9 still gives me good card visibility and 9:16 content too!

Got a C clamp stand so should be able to do overhead shots too, though have to admit I really did like the pov shots as well. I can probably combine

Still working on setting up an overhead shot for longer form board game content but curious if anyone has a preference (or is ambivalent to) either of the pov shots below (1 is wide angle)

The card crafting system is pretty awesome. The top frame is a card from my deck and the bottom is what's actually in its sleeve.

You have a core card, 1-2 upgrades (2 here), and then a threat card on the back. Your deck is also the enemy deck. When you kill an enemy, you get it front-side in hand!

Won my first game of Unstoppable. I was wondering why they called this a momentum deckbuilder but it really is one - once you go, you just keep GOIN!

This was my game winning board state. This was also an infinite build so I could keep replaying my hand.

Big recommend

After some excellent games of Paperback Adventures and Bullet, it's now time to learn how to be...

Paperback Adventures is a certified banger. It partially scratches a Slay the Spire-like itch in a much smaller form factor with still a ton of game. The mechanic of forming words to attack is a puzzly delight.

Trying out another character, Plothook!

Set up Paperback Adventures today though didn't get time to actually play due to work. Gonna get to it tomorrow but curious if anyone has any beginner tips?

I bought it on account of it being a scrabble meets slay the spire deckbuilder. Excited!

Idk why but the name of this game keeps making me run the Invincible show's intro gag in my head

Had Bullet Heart on my shelves for I think 3 years and finally decided to play. Tried Score attack to learn the general gameplay (deceptively simple) and then a Boss encounter (which I lost at the last moment but was still puzzly fun)

Really liked it for its pace and puzzle!

Finally broke out some Cursed Castle. Fun little Darkest Dungeon-esque themed game where you delve into a dungeon with 3 heroes vs a row of enemies using dice and cube placement.

Lots of fun/crunchy little decisions to make. Easy to learn but the rulebook lacked some clarity.

I had Final Girl Sacred Groves setup on my desk for a MONTH. Life got in the way after I finished painting Inkanyamba. Lost once on the first turn with the desperation die then smacked him silly in the next one!

With that I'm done with S1 and moving on to other games for a bit.

Thanks! Thought you'd be interested in the direction I've been taking it yesterday:

Was going to setup the last series 1 Final Girl #boardgame film I hadn't played yet - Slaughter in the groves - and realized I hadn't painted its mini yet

It's been a decent number of months since I last #minipainted so was definitely rusty and could've done better

Time to get slaughtered lol

Gepetto at the Carnival of Blood in Final Girl was probably my most challenging play yet. After he crushed my first run, I got him in the next one

Saved victims and got my ultimate turn 2, got a knife, and went for a last stand while his puppets almost killed the last 3.

Update: After 8 turns, Gepetto and his puppets cornered me near the big top and took me down.

He's probably the hardest villain I've faced so far (granted still have most of Series 2 to go).

Setting up Carnival of Blood with good ol Geppetto, the clown from hell!

Will take a ...stab after work

Saved Carolyn on the next attempt!

The poltergeist kept haunting rooms, killing various victims ranging from aspiring rappers to intrepid journalists.

During one haunting, Carolyn's cries were heard from the closet. I dashed for the closer, grabbed her, and made a mad dash for a window.

Continuing the #finalgirl #boardgame grind with the Poltergeist at Creech Manor.

I lost in 3 turns (due to using the desperation die lol but I was basically dead anyway)

Been a busy new year but continuing to slowly play through unplayed games!

Broke out Final Girl: Once Upon a Full Moon, pitting Red against the Big Bad Wolf.

Started out really rough since he ate 5 victims on turn 1 but I still won: he choked on chicken bones, and got slingshotted and retaliated 🐺

Got a puzzle board (30x20 in) to help create a little more space on my desk and make games more portable for when I'm lazy!

Currently getting crushed in #marvelchampions

Finally had a chance to play Sentinels of the Multiverse: DE.

Verdict: 11/10, fast to learn and play (even when multi handing 3 heroes), oozes theme through art and lore, and satisfying level of complexity without getting too crazy like Marvel Champs. Place for both in my collection
