Thanks to Rich Lowry for my name. I fight harmful hysteria, pseudoscience/woo, fake medicine, contrarianism and conspiracy theories.
Don't hybrids keep the traction battery under the rear seat?

Criminology and forensics contains much more pseudoscience than anyone should be comfortable with.

It's the adrenochrome IV! Though that probably proves adrenochrome is not an anti-aging drug...

Hang on, there's somebody who thought pressing a mould of somebody's teeth into a dead body would give directly comparable marks to those teeth biting the body?

Is this person an alien who has never seen a jaw before?

I didn't know it was true, but on seeing the screenshot it looks authentic. The Spice Girls had a song called Naked, and when they performed it live they appeared to be naked behind those chairs.

I remember playing a Leisure Suit Larry game before knowing what a condom was, lol

from civilian corpses and using them as drinking vessels. While you invaded neutral Russia in 1917, we committed a massacre of civilians in the desert.

Most militaries have had stains. The boat strikes were horrible and unacceptable but not like your military hasn't done horrible things before.

They are an insult to those who proudly do the right thing while serving, but there have been an awful lot of stains throughout your history.

In fairness, the Australian military has had its fair share too. While you were torturing prisoners at Abu Garib, we were stealing prosthetic legs >

I'm wary of overestimating kids' technical abilities, but I think they will find plenty of other places to be online. They have already found and circulated information about a few new places.

And let's face it, some rebellious parents will assist them. (Maybe myself included)

Pfft, 210,000 cars recalled is nothing for a big manufacturer like BYD. I used to own a Toyota and it had four recalls for various things. Only took a couple of hours at the dealer to get it all fixed though.

No, they don't lose access to the internet. They lose access to some social media networks, that's all.

Do you go onto caravanning articles and comment that you'd rather stay in a hotel?
December 3, 2025 at 4:38 AM
Fully agreed. A therapist is the only person who should be burdened with this. Don't tell traumatic child protection stories in a crowded office, like the guy I encountered.

When I was studying multimedia, I was once asked if that would qualify me to repair computers.
December 2, 2025 at 3:28 AM
Five years ago I heard a child protection worker talking about something they once saw. I still painfully know exactly what you are talking about. Don't burden someone else with that story.

"But my number is unlisted"

Yeah that just means it's not in the phone book. If somebody dials the number, they'll still get through won't they?

"But I'm on the do-not-call register"

Only covers telemarketing, not actual research.
December 2, 2025 at 3:25 AM
When I worked in market research, it was "How did they get my phone number?"

They didn't "get" your phone number, they dialled every plausible phone number from 0000-0000 to 9999-9999 (oversimplification).

If your phone number is in that range, they got through to you

I've used DC charging twice, and on neither occasion did I need to start my car again and switch it off again to start charging. Parking there, switching the car off, plugging in and hitting the app to start charging was sufficient.

It appears to be an issue with Tesla stations, not with the car.

This was before the Sonic The Hedgehog movies came out. My nephew was playing a Sonic game and I said "Oh, Sonic The Hedgehog, great game" and he was like "How do you know Sonic?!"

Had to tell him Sonic was popular when I was his age

Buying a new car feels like hell to me. Car salespeople always leave me feeling like I've been screwed over in some way.

But I do like my new car.

I'm Antibodies Against Kookery and I have not owned five cars!

I had a Nissan Pintara for five years in the 2000s

Then I bought a Toyota Yaris in 2010

Now I recently bought a Kia Niro EV which, obviously, is the best car I've owned

(My wife has an older Mazda 2)
