Weekly recap/roundup for listening. New Oneohtrix Point Never album is quite nice, Rosalia isn’t leaving anytime soon, and a 2019 favorite of mine rounding out the top 3.

Last week of listening all over the board. New Jean Dawson is solid, lotta vaporwave while working, and been playing Silent Hill 2 for the first time (loving it so far, great atmosphere) after having listened to some of the soundtrack for the last year. Cool to hear them in the context of the game.

My top 40 Album of the Year list! There’s a ton of music I didn’t get to this last year, and some missing that I listened to but just outright forgot about them releasing, but these are 40 albums I got to and enjoyed at some point this last year. Highlight playlist and ranking method is in thread.

Going through albums for my AOTY list, and I gotta think it has to do with Spotify’s compression, but it’s insane how much better this song is live. The way the sax breaks/squeaks just cannot be replicated via recording.
Song is still phenomenal though, amazing jazz album.
