'The Beast In Me' series review: "But with first-rate performances from Matthew Rhys and Brittany Snow, and plenty of suspense and momentum shepherding it, the series becomes a compelling, thrilling piece of entertainment."

'Ballad Of A Small Player' review: "Ballad Of A Small Player is without a doubt beautiful to gaze at, but behind the alluring exterior, there's nothing meaningful to take away from it. Hence, it is a chore to get through."

'A House Of Dynamite' review: "The movie is admittedly watchable because the vivacity is there, but lukewarm themes and hollow characters earn nothing but a lukewarm response and a shrug. It's not sticky enough."

'The Lost Bus' review: "While there are some thrilling and stirring moments in that second half, this story should be a slam dunk for one of the most heart-wrenching rides of the year. Sadly, the writing and acting aren't up to the job."

'Slow Horses' season 5 review: "Have they gone and done it again? The answer to that is yes, this season is another banger. How do they do it? Who knows? Let's just enjoy this moment."

'The Woman In Cabin 10' review: "That said, the movie was most likely meant to be a trashy thriller with outrageous yet amusing twists, but it's neither fun enough to be enjoyable trash nor clever enough to be thrilling."

'One Battle After Another' review: "It's a thrilling, muscular, propulsive, weighty and technically impressive burst of heat radiating off the silver screen. It moves at a breakneck pace. The energy is intoxicating."

'All That’s Left Of You' review: "This is undoubtedly an extremely ambitious and powerful story. It asks tough questions, and it lands an emotional gutpunch or two, but there's love, empathy and tender moments to be found, too."

'Wayward' series review: "Wayward is worth taking a leap thanks to its thought-provoking story, idiosyncrasies and rich characters. On the whole, it thrives on a rare blend of genres that make for a breath of fresh air in the TV space right now."

TOGETHER is currently playing in cinemas (Finland, South Korea, Argentina + more).

I might write about it later, I might not, but I have seen the film & would recommend it. Looking for an effective, stylish & delightfully icky horror with strong performances? Then look no further.

PLAINCLOTHES is now playing in select cinemas (US).

I don't know yet if I'll write about it, but I did see the film & would recommend it. If a visually daring drama with a really interesting hook & infectious chemistry sounds like your vibe, you should check it out.

'Alien: Earth' season 1 review: "Intelligent enough, but above all a pure visual spectacle that doesn't lack ambition, the series gets off to a good start with its first run. Humans should live to see another season."

'The Conjuring: Last Rites' review: "We're haunted by an egregiously hollow and poorly made horror spectacle, as well as a truly terrible director in Michael Chaves. Even Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga cannot save this movie's soul."

'The School Duel' review: "Ultimately, the film is a bit of a hotchpotch in terms of quality, but at least it is a stylistically ambitious and razor-sharp hotchpotch, and so it ends up being rather memorable."

GRIFFIN IN SUMMER is now playing in select cinemas (US).

I don't have a review, but I saw it at Tribeca last, uh, summer & would recommend it. If a fun coming-of-age comedy sounds interesting to you, you might want to head towards your nearest silver screen.

'Hostage' series review: "At the end of the day, this is more or less designed to be harmless algorithm filler—it's decently made fast food that could've, and should've, been more gripping if it had a little bit of flair."

THE BAD GUYS 2 is currently playing in cinemas (worldwide).

I most likely won't review the film, but I did see it & would recommend it. More of the same, which is good news if you enjoyed the first one—the animation is slightly better & most of the comedy works.

ANIMALE is now available on VOD (US, Canada).

I didn't review the film, but I saw it at HIFF last year & would recommend it. If you're interested in a cool & moody body horror drama with some striking photography, this might be right up your alley.

SOULEYMANE'S STORY is now playing in select cinemas (US, Canada).

I don't have a review for it, but I did see it at TIFF last year and would recommend you check this neat slice-of-life drama out. Abou Sangare is very good in the lead role.
