Remember December 1, 1955! Mrs. Rosa Parks sparked the Civil Rights movement with the word "No." Our ancestors fought fascism with dignity, purpose, strategy, and resolve. Never let anyone deny our history or reduce it to a supplementary pamphlet in somebody else's story. Africa!

Today my book club is discussing "Neighbors and Other Short Stories" by Diane Oliver (July 28, 1943- May 21, 1966). This is one of the best things I've read in 2024. I've read it twice already. Miss Oliver died in an accident at age 22--already a powerhouse. #upallnightreading

45/47 wants to cut Medicaid and SNAP benefits, which are food stamps. Most people who receive SNAP benefits are yt folk. I wonder how many of the yt SNAP benefit recipients or the cousins of recipients voted for 45/47. #Wetriedtotellyou

Rest in peace, Dr. Elizabeth Nunez, writer extraordinaire, teacher, and just a beautiful spirit. I will miss this lady right here. BTW, you see the book she's holding there, "Prospero's Daughter?" You should check it out. #upallnightreading
