The Lijadu Sisters, 1977

Identical twin sisters, Taiwo and Kehinde Lijadu were cousins of the popular Nigerian musician Fela Kuti and they were pioneers for women in the rock music scene. Starting out in the late 1960s and later groomed by Ginger Baker, they achieved success in Nigeria.

Many communities in Igbo land are called Umudioka and it might interest one to know that they share the same ancestry, hence they don't inter marry among themselves but see each other as extended family.
