@yorkshirepeat.bsky.social get an admiring write up in Nick MacKinnon's latest blog
Nick MacKinnon's latest blog is out now. Nick and friends have now walked to 32 of the 65 proposed turbine sites. It's an important analysis of the question we all want an answer to: access to the wind farm site... or not. Thanks to our friend @markavery.bsky.social

Walshaw Moor stretches from Top Withens aka Wuthering Heights to Hardcastle Crags. It’s highly protected carbon-storing blanket bog. Curlews (on the edge of extinction) breed there. Please sign this petition to ban wind farms on protected peatland in England petition.parliament.uk/petitions/70...
Petition: Ban wind farms on protected peat land in England
In its recent consultation on new onshore wind planning regulations, the government asked if some habitats, such as those containing peat soils, need extra protection from renewable energy development...

Best cakes for miles around.
My wife has a bakery in West Yorkshire - you may remember it from 'cakegate'.

Anyway, the Christmas range is available to order and there is even a postal option if you're not local: www.threelittlebirdsbakery.com/christmas

This year, more than ever, supporting small businesses is a must.

King Charles inherited £650m tax free, gets £125m a year tax free from the tax payer and has an estate worth £22bn that’s never taxed.

But he still needed a 45% pay rise.

Like if he needs a pay cut.
RP if you want the Monarchy gone.

Peat grows a millimetre per year. Some peat on Walshaw moor has been growing since the Bronze Age, absorbing rainwater (thus mitigating flooding in the Calder Valley) and storing carbon. Wind farms don’t need to be built on protected peatland.
The latest in the series of Walshaw Moor guest blogs - here John Page finds that the peat depth in the middle of a proposed windfarm is 240cm. If that isn't deep peat - what is?

And if that isn't a daft place to put a windfarm then what is
Ed Miliband?
