We may not all agree on what aspects (like story, gameplay, etc.) should be prioritized, but I feel that we ultimately want the same thing. It's a healthy dialogue to have.

I hate what happened to this series (and others) since the echo chamber thing discourages anyone from "stepping out of line."

I agree with you. The thing is, people who make constructive criticism of the series do so out of love and care because they hope to see it be the best it can be.

To tell the truth, I thought the remakes of 2 and 3 were a botched job. Add in the fandom's incessant worship of 4, and I was done.

I agree. The Switch is definitely a great system. There are some high-quality games released for play on that thing.

But anyway, funny thing is, it's based on the stories in the comics instead of in the game series.

I still have my modest Dreamcast collection, though, so I'll keep going back to that. Come to think of it, I haven't played through Skies of Arcadia since my grad school days... Or Jet Set Radio.

I'll be honest. The last remotely game-related thing I even bought was the Amy Rose Fortune Card deck, since I'm a huge fan of the tarot and since the Sonic series has pretty much been part of my life since the early '90s.

Hell, Sonic 2 is what motivated me to get into gaming way back in the day.

No worries. I confess that I'm a bit of a pessimist when it comes to the industry as of late.

I just personally haven't seen anything that I feel can hold a candle to what used to come out during the PS1 or Saturn days. These are just my feelings, though.

But Jean Reno was pretty badass in Onimusha III, from what I remember. It'd be cool if he ever reappears in a new one.

They have indices on all four corners, which is something I wish more decks would do. I'll try my luck with a pack or two of Dal Negro. It's frustrating when I've to import them.
