currently I'm just going through Ultima VI with some buddies though and it's very chill and very funny and I'm like, ah okay this is why people do this. and I didn't notice (I don't have all my alerts set up) but I even got raided by almost 50 viewers so that was very cool

I kinda stopped bc raiding in FFXIV was making shit so stressful that it was like...nah I cannot be doing this when people keep forgetting we're live and getting very loudly upset. it was not fun to stream and I'm sure it was awkward to view

it's basically just impossible unless you wanna commit to getting a hotel room and even then, kinda ass...like WHY are y'all not having the occasional weekend midafternoon old people party. surely people would attend!

I've at least figured out a solution and it's working (wash fingers more, suck air through cast with a vacuum to keep it dry) but I think they wrapped it a little too tight and my thumb keeps going a little numb :/ I did tell the ortho but bleh

the only worse thing I've caught was bacterial pneumonia as a kid that would have hospitalized me but Cipro had just hit the market in a big way and barely allowed me to sleep it off at my mom's friend's house while she was at work. I don't remember jack shit about it though so it hardly counts

we tested my theory that if you start taking a prescription dose of Benadryl (WITH a doctor's approval, that's important) and an NSAID as soon as the rash starts, it'll maybe be less bad symptomatically, and it seemed to hold true for them at least? but fucks sake what an awful illness

at one point I was strongly considering just biting my fingers off to be done with it because they got that unbearable. I was living on Benadryl and the power of freezing bottled water so I could wrap my entire hands around it. shit was terrible and my partner caught it too

it was such a goddamn roller coaster of Medical Events, I probably wouldn't have caught HFM but I was in the ER with a combo panic attack and possible food poisoning and I almost definitely picked it up there
