After a few stressful days of gremlin hunting on the new boat, it sure is nice to be up river and anchored in Mount Creek. Makes it all worthwhile.

New Brunswick and Newfoundland and Labrador are working together to open up opportunities for our business to access new markets right next door. Provinces and Territories are collaborating to strengthen our Canadian economy - we’re not letting perfect stand in the way of progress.

Apparently it is rare for people to want to attach a tandem bike to a dinghy...So I designed and built this detachable rack.

Sea trials will happen in a couple of weeks.

This will enable us to (hopefully) get our tandem bike from anchor to shore.

Anchor chain snubber done. I used a simple figure-8 on a bite to attach the clasp. Any better way to do an in-line loop? I couldn’t find a good splice for mid-line. Suggestions appreciated.

I think I need to spend some time diagramming, labelling, and revamping my new boat’s battery banks. Connecting the batteries today was a bit stressful. Seems to be working though…

Today’s life lesson. Don’t wash your boats bimini with dish soap and then put it in the washing machine.

We literally had to use a snow shovel to get rid of the soap that poured out of the machine.

I added a thumb rest to my new acoustic bass and I love how it feels now. The thumb rest is a piece of wood salvaged from an old piano. The colour isn’t an exact match but I think it works, and I like the added history. #bass

Rooting around the new (used) boat today and found a photo album of the original fit-out in the Taiwanese shipyard in the 80’s.

@telotrucks.bsky.social might be the perfect replacement for my Tacoma when the time comes. I'm curious about the offroad capability though.

This is absolutely the best thing I've seen today! Although they may be underestimating the number of beers needed to get through this. I'll take two!
