Get real PG&E! A 2.1% reprieve on rates is chump change. Your rates have risen nearly 70% since 2020 and another 23.5% increase looms on the horizon. #AffordabilityWatchCA

A 2.1% rate "decrease" is nothing to celebrate when PG&E hiked bills nearly 70% since 2020 and is demanding another 23.5% increase. Their corporate spin is an insult to families that have been struggling to keep the lights on while PG&E shareholders line their pockets.

Cap & Trade negotiations have failed to ensure cost containment. Higher prices for gas, food & energy is not an option! Californians deserve a Cap & Invest program that protects climate and consumers. #AffordabilityWatchCA

Cap & Trade delays create uncertainty in the market, discouraging investment in programs that keep emission reductions affordable. Lawmakers shouldn't gamble with California's Cap & Trade program extension.

Legislators: stop the delay! #AffordabilityWatchCA

California's affordability crisis is out of control—now is not the time for lawmakers to gamble with our state's economy!

Legislators: Reject costly reforms and pass Governor Newsom's clean and affordable Cap & Invest! #AffordabilityWatchCA

Gas up to $8/gal. Higher grocery bills. Even more expensive housing and construction costs. That’s the cost of extreme Cap & Trade reforms.

Legislators: keep climate ambition realistic and affordable during Cap & Trade debate. #AffordabilityWatchCA

Offsets + allowances = lifelines for CA families, farmers & jobs. Without them, California risks adding fuel to the affordability crisis.

Clean air + economic stability can go hand-in-hand with a clean and affordable Cap & Trade reauthorization. #AffordabilityWatchCA

Cap & Trade is one of the best climate tools California has, but it won’t work anymore if proposed changes bankrupt its citizens.

Stripping away offsets + allowances = higher gas, food & housing costs.

California needs climate progress and affordability. #AffordabilityWatchCA

California's farmers and food processors are drowning in red tape.
❌ Water restrictions.
❌ Labor mandates.
❌ Environmental rules.
The result? Closures, layoffs & a food supply system on the brink. Sacramento must stop the regulatory overkill. #AffordabilityWatchCA

⚠️ Valero & Phillips 66 are shutting down their CA refineries.
❌ 20% of CA’s refining capacity vanishing.
❌ Food producers closing statewide.

Sacramento’s regulatory overkill = higher prices + lost jobs. #AffordabilityWatchCA

More than one million acres of California farmland lost in just 15 years and more than 20% of farms closed in the last decade alone.

From farm closures to food plant shutdowns, Sacramento’s red tape is crushing rural jobs. #AffordabilityWatchCA

Tom Steyer said it best:
“Climate action starts feeling like a tax on the present.”
CA leaders must stop ignoring the fallout—soaring rents, food costs, energy bills & business closures. #AffordabilityWatchCA

Gas $1.50+ above U.S. avg.
Electricity 2× national avg.
Food sky-high.
Jobs disappearing.

Climate leadership has a cost—and Californians are paying it daily. Sacramento must make climate policy affordable. #AffordabilityWatchCA

🚨 BREAKING: California's climate policies add to the cost of everything.
Highest gas prices in the U.S.
Electric rates up 47% in 4 years.
>3M behind on utility bills.
Without balance, climate ambition is pricing people out. #AffordabilityWatchCA

Cap & Trade works because it balances climate goals with cost control.

Ill-conceived changes won’t help the planet—they’ll just send gas & grocery prices skyrocketing.

Sacramento: Do your job. Reauthorize Cap & Trade without driving up costs even higher. #AffordabilityWatchCA

California’s climate policies are pricey enough.

Now some want to gut Cap & Trade—the one tool that works without crushing families.

Axing offsets & free allowances = higher prices for everyone. Say NO to extreme reforms. #AffordabilityWatchCA

Cap & Trade is California’s most cost-effective climate policy.
Radical reforms? They’ll drive gas to $8/gallon and spike food & energy prices. In a state already drowning in costs, we can’t afford that.

Reauthorize Cap & Trade smartly—keep it affordable. #AffordabilityWatchCA

"Polluters pay" mandates and costly Cap & Trade proposals may satisfy climate activists—but they’ll crush small businesses and low-income families.

Sacramento must reject costly reforms. #AffordabilityWatchCA

CA gas prices are already the highest in the nation—and now Sacramento wants to make them even worse. SB 684 & AB 1243 = another hidden gas tax that working families can't afford. Say NO to higher costs and NO to SB 684 & AB 1243 #AffordabilityWatchCA www.affordabilitywatchca.org/self-inflict...

CA Legislature has a choice:
✅ Reauthorize Cap & Trade smartly & affordably
❌ Cave to extreme demands that eliminate free allowances & send prices soaring
CA can fight climate change without destroying working families, farms & small businesses #AffordabilityWatchCA

Gas at $7–$8/gal? More expensive food and energy? That’s the future if the Legislature continues its costly environmental agenda.

Sacramento politicians must reject proposals that drive up costs and worsen the affordability crisis. #AffordabilityWatchCA

California’s affordability crisis is no accident—it's the result of years of misguided environmental policies that ignore balanced and cost-effective solutions.

California passed Japan to become the world’s 4th largest economy. But for millions of residents, it doesn’t feel like a win.

💸Highest poverty rate
⚡ Soaring utility bills
🏠Housing almost no one can afford

GDP growth won’t fix California’s affordability crisis. #AffordabilityWatchCA

Californians are hurting from high electricity rates! By March 2025, 3.4 million were behind on utility bills—up from 2.2 million just months earlier.
Total debt? Nearly $2.2 billion. Rates are too high & people are falling behind—policymakers must act! #AffordabilityWatchCA
