... but anyone relying on this method of income to survive is exactly one bad day or one unexpected tariff bill away from shutting their doors forever. The only exceptions are those who already have the safety net(s) of a partners income/inheritance/well-paying industry job to catch them.

...for what would have been an equal amount of labour in preparation upfront. It feels like everything is "breaking even" right now, with the grain from every crop planting exactly enough wheat for next year and feeding creators enough to avoid starving...

...ever reliably be realised. Lauding a project that raised $XXX,000 as "successful" is ridiculous when the reality often is that everyone was underpaid, the production costs would've been huge, and even if well paid it helped people pay rent/bills for maybe a few months at most...

I have many barking thoughts about "professionalism" in an industry that is predominantly hobbiest-led by people who still have full time jobs to support them. I don't think our industry can stand on its own, and for the hundreds of thousands of players only a handful can earn a living.

Similarly, app/program devs that shut down their perfectly searchable and archived forums in favour of chat platforms like Discord. None of this shit is broken, why are they breaking it??
