Just let me enjoy my reality tv and books. Might be lost in the woods somewhere, don’t find me.

My breakfasts thoughts today: I wish production would influence the show with in house tasks/rewards/punishments, give us Marsha the Moose, make the houseguests press a button every 5 minutes and if they fail they have to sleep outside, something to laugh at that doesn’t blow up the game. #bb27

The way I was seriously upset today that they didn’t have pool floaties this season, I brought this into existence 😂 #bb27

2025 Book 18 - The Three Lives of Cate Kay by Kate Fagan - 2/5 ⭐️

My book club picked this one for March. I couldn’t stand the main character and the story is all wrapped around her lack of ability to handle difficult situations which was just overly frustrating.

2025 Book 17 - Rules of Civility by Amor Towles - 3/5 ⭐️

This is my 3rd Amor Towles book and probably my least favorite of the 3. But don’t get me wrong I enjoyed it too, he has a way of telling a story that’s fun to dive into. I think it’s a great debut novel and he just gets better.

2025 Book 16 - The Bodyguard by Katherine Center - 4/5⭐️

Again Katherine Center just does romcoms right. I loved this one, my only complaint I couldn’t stop picturing Glen Powell as Jack, maybe not a bad thing 😂

2025 Book 15 - The Very Secret Society of Irregular Witches by Sangu Mandanna - 4/5 ⭐️

A cute rom com book with witches. I didn’t know what I was getting into when I started this one and I was quickly captured by the characters and the journey to find home.

2025 Book 14 - Did You Hear About Kitty Karr by Crystal Smith Paul - 3.5/5 stars

I was so consumed by Kitty’s story, much of the book was worth the read and heartbreaking. My only complaint I struggled with the 2017 timeline, I couldn’t connect which made those chapters hard to read.

2025 Book 13 - Freaks, Gleeks, and Dawson’s Creek by Thea Glassman - 3/5 stars

This one has a very specific audience and I fully own my millennial card, Team Pacey forever. I did wish there was less recapping but there was enough new stuff I didn’t know that kept me interested.

2025 Book 12 - The Life Impossible by Matt Haig - 2/5 stars

I usually eat up stories like this but I was struggling to fall into this world where impossible things happen. I had higher expectations.

2025 Book 11 - Listen for the Lie by Amy Tintera - 3/5 stars

I think I’ve read too many books in this genre, it felt the same as so many others. It was done well but I did figure it out early and I never really cared for the characters.

Just finished Memoir of a Snail and I’m in pieces.

This year’s Oscar Noms for animated films are killing it. One of my struggle bus categories has become my favorite this year.

2025 Book 10 - Penitence by Kristin Koval - 1/5 stars

I hate to give a bad review but this was not my cup of tea. I hated the writing and the characters. I knew the big secret from the beginning and she doesn’t give the full truth on the main plot. I wish I skipped this one.

I updated my temperature ranges because I decided to use high temp and realized it’s rare we have a high temp below 20. Probably will not use the 100 and over but just in case.

January complete. We had 2 weeks in the 20s to start I was getting nervous the whole month would be all the same color.

2025 Book 9 - The Rom-Commers by Katherine Center - 4/5 stars

I love Katherine Center she has a way of writing rom-coms that just hit the mark. Not my favorite of hers but still worth a read.

2025 Book 7 - The Third Gilmore Girl by Kelly Bishop - 4/5 stars

For fans of The Gilmore Girls 💯 Kelly will forever and always be Emily Gilmore and this was so fun to learn about her life beyond our favorite show. Listen to the audiobook read by Kelly herself for an extra treat.

2025 Book 6 - The Stolen Queen by Fiona Davis - 4/5 stars

The Magnolia Palace still holds my favorite by Fiona spot but I so enjoyed this trip. My 10 yr old self was obsessed and wanted to runaway to live in the Met. So this was a fun trip into the former dreams of my child self.

The beyond frustrating build up to the heartbreaking end caused physical emotional pain for me. This one will stick with me for a while.
