No argument from me there. I agree. But public perception, which is what the article was based on, largely plummeted due to Musk being the talking head for Tesla. People who were surface-level interested in EVs thought Teslas were pretty neat before that.

You even go so far as to highlight it as a problem in American thinking, while not addressing the huge campaign against Tesla that's been ongoing since Musk's Nazi salute. Most of the negative brand image comes from the fact that most of us aren't selling out morals for mid-tier cars.

You accuse people of having no critical thinking skills about the state of the EV market while demonstrating no critical thinking of your own through a whole article. Tesla is at the bottom of brand perception due to being run by a Nazi. The quality of the cars is secondary. Musk is the problem.
