yeah the original characters are another thing i don't care about. people keep glazing them online and i'd probably care about them if i read the comics but i share the same sentiment as you that i'd rather more development went into the actual game characters

i tried it about a year ago and couldn't get past ch1, my adhd couldn't get past the long and corny dialogue (not saying corny dialogue isn't par for the course for this franchise though)

i've seen mixed reviews. probably just the communities i'm viewing tbh. i did look into the game a bit more myself and rethought buying it though, it's been a while since i played a pokemon game

pkmn is so popular as a franchise i cant see anything happening to it despite how broken the games have been lately. i have so many irl friends who just collect the cards and nothing else, it's insane. i was pretty excited for z-a too but seeing the reviews i don't think i'm gna buy that game either
