i typo'd and said Molag Ball in the first post ahhh! it's Molag Bal. It's late and the pizza food coma is catching up to me 😩 if you made it this far down in the thread, ilu and i hope you had a good day, and you had good food and i hope maybe one day you give ESO a try!

anyways, i REALLY love the lore with Dolmens, how ESO makes sure that every NPC is tied to every quest; everything is voiced; and as with Dungeons, Dolmens and Delves it's not really easy to feel FOMO (in my experience, at least, playing the game) when it comes to gearing up, unlike in other games 👍🏻

this is becoming a comparative thread but I promise it's out of the implication that I really, reeeeally wish that our beloved MMO would learn from others too and come up with their own, better version of it. keeping it to the FATE/Dolmen comparison, FATES need to be incentivized more, I feel like.

i've been saying for years that obviously every MMO has their quirks (pros/cons included) but I keep wishing that if XIV gets some ideas from ESO and how instancing works - gear drops, housing - the player base would actually benefit.

like how gear drops in ESO. it would be SO HELPFUL in dungeons.

when a Dolmen ends, a chest spawns & no matter who opens it, everything that drops is yours & only. AND, each person gets their own as well. instanced items! NO need to roll Need, Greed, or Loot. also for Dungeons or Delves. after clearing a theatric boom echoes in the sky, and the Dolmen shuts off.

lore-wise, Dolmens are basically spots where Molag Ball is attempting to tether Tamriel onto Coldharbour, to fuse them together. so essentially quelling them means you get to push him back another day.

Molag Bal (voiced by Malcolm McDowell) also speaks to you at these Dolmens; very fun to hear!!

when I say that ESO has housing.... i mean that ESO has HOUSING. you don't live in a neighborhood with people you barely even see... an entire instance, terrain/environment included, is *yours* ✨
